It’s the most wonderful time of the year... unless it’s not. For many children and their parents, this time of year may be depressing, stressful or simply go by unnoticed due to more pressing problems.
Our goal is to bring Christmas joy to as many children in need as possible in Johnston County. The great part of Toys for Tots is that items and money donated locally stay local. Your donations help kids right here at home. With your help, we were able to assist 28 families, 54 children and distribute 216 gifts!
The due date had passed, and the Toys for Tots boxes around town have all been picked up, but that shouldn’t stop you from helping with next year’s Toys for Tots Campaign. As you shop the after Christmas sales and throughout the year, remember that you can pick up toys and wrapping paper to be dropped off at INCA to use for next year’s campaign.
This year, Johnston County EMS is taking part in the toy campaign by helping with deliveries. We are always happy to work with community partners especially when it helps fulfill the wishes of children and spread Christmas cheer.
Johnston is a very helpful, responsive county. From businesses serving as drop-off locations, citizens helping with fundraisers or giving, and volunteers wrapping the gifts, it is greatly appreciated. This community always comes together during times of need which help make a program successful. Thank you, Johnston County for all of your help this year and we wish you all a Merry Christmas and prosperous New Year.
